Kayak Along the South Coast

LaCaletaSUP · South coast of Tenerife · Groups of 1–9

Some parts of this coast can only really be seen from a kayak. Volcanic cliffs dropping straight into the sea, caves with turquoise water inside, unnamed coves. Javi and Álvaro have been paddling into these places for years — first with friends, now with you too.

They know the currents, when the wind shifts and which caves you can enter depending on the tide. There is no fixed route in the strict sense: they adapt it to the group level and to the sea that day. If someone has never paddled before, twenty minutes is usually enough to feel comfortable on the water. At some point along the route they stop to snorkel at a natural spot.

This experience works by recommendation because Javi and Álvaro do not take large groups. If the group is bigger than nine, they do not run it. That is exactly why it belongs in the guide.

Frequently asked questions

How long does it last?

1.5 hours

How many people can come?

1–9 people

What's included?

Kayaks and paddles, Life jacket, Local guide, Safety briefing

Where do we meet?

Playa El Pinque

Do I need to know how to swim or have paddled before?

No previous experience is needed. If someone in the group has never paddled, Javi and Álvaro spend the first few minutes helping them get comfortable before heading into open water.

What happens if the sea isn't good that day?

Javi and Álvaro decide the route based on how the sea is that morning, not in advance. If conditions aren't safe, we find another day together.

Is it suitable for kids?

Yes, from age 6 — Javi and Álvaro use special tandem kayaks so kids go with an adult. Tell them the age when you message so they bring the right kayak.

What do I need to bring?

Swimwear under your clothes, something to dry off with and sun protection. Everything else — kayak, paddle, life jacket — is provided by the guide.

Is the price per person or per kayak?

The price is per kayak. A single kayak for one adult is €45; a double for two adults is €50; and a kayak for two adults with a child is €60 in total.
